Linda Quartermaine Artist
Hello and welcome to my website it is so good of you to join me and I hope you like what you see.
I have been painting for many years now and what was initially a Painting for Pleasure Art Course has turned into a life time passion. I have paintings in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. My favourite mediums are Watercolours, Graphite Pencil and Pastels although I have worked with Oils.
I am a member of a local art group - Walton Group of Artists - in which I am a committee member and also the Exhibition Co-Ordinator. We hold an exhibition every year in Novemer
I love the outdoors and there is nowhere better than the Yorkshire Dales. I have taken to putting on my walking boots and taking my sketch book and Pencils and set out to do some En Plein Air sketching. I also have a passion for trees, the way they dance in the wind. I love them through all seasons, the different colours and contrasts, the shadows that they make across the ground.
About 2 months ago I was watching a TV Documentary on Baby Chimpanzees in Liberia, and a couple who were rescuing them because their parents are killed for their meat. I was so moved by what these 2 people were trying to achieve in teaching these babies how to be chimpanzee's that I got in touch with them and we now have an agreement that I can use their photographs on their website and any paintings I sell, I will give them 10% from the sale. So you will shortly be seeing a lot of Baby Chimpanzee paintings in Pastels on this website. If you want to learn more about this amazing charity and the work they do please use this link https://www.liberiachimpanzeerescue.org/

This is a commission that I did in Graphite Pencil.
